Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist

An outstanding new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist to work in an exceptional hospital based in the Leeds, West Yorkshire area. As a Psychiatrist you will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers.

This special hospital is a locked rehabilitation and recovery service suitable for males. The hospital focuses on active rehabilitation and recovery for those with mental illnesses and personality disorders.

As a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist your day to day duties include:
• Ensuring that each patient has a full physical health screen upon admission including physical examination, ECG and bloods.
• Responsible for patient treatment plans, whilst liaising with the multi-disciplinary team.
• Screening and assessing referrals.
• Reviewing mental state examination of service users, appropriate investigation / diagnosis and treatment, participation in ward rounds.
• Lead the implementation of risk assessment, risk management and embed clinical governance within the hospital.
• Responsible for the supervision of reports for Mental Health Act Tribunals and managers' hearings and attend hearings whenever possible.
• Completing discharge letters and reports as required.
• Contributing to the service development by participating in Clinical Governance activities by conducting audits, research and teaching.

An ideal Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist must have these skills and experiences as they are beneficial for this position:
• Previous experience in forensic psychiatry and rehabilitation
• Full GMC registration
• Excellent Communication Skills
• Team Player
• Able to show a can-do attitude always

The successful Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist will receive an excellent annual salary from £150,000 - £160,000 per annum. This exciting position is a Full Time role working 37.5 hours a week. In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive the following generous benefits:
